Anzan is the Japanese method of performing mental mathematics by visualizing an abstract image of the abacus, without using a physical abacus.

Q2. Who can learn Soroban?
Learners as young as five years old can start training. It is suitable for children, adolescents, and adults across educational levels, including students, professionals, and entrepreneurs.

Q3. How does Soroban represent numbers?
• Lower four beads touching the reckoning bar represent the 4-series (4, 44, 444…).
• Lower four beads plus the upper bead represent the 9-series (9, 99, 999…).
• Higher numbers are represented by extending these configurations across multiple rods (tens, hundreds, etc.).

Memberships are available for schools/institutes and organizations. Members enjoy privileges like access to online training, competitions, and recognition at award ceremonies. Membership fees vary by category.

Q7. Are mobile applications available to practice Abacus and Mental Arithmetic?
Yes, mobile apps for Android and iOS allow students to practice Abacus and Mental Arithmetic, participate in competitions, and take mock tests for pre-grading, pre-national, and pre-international exams.

Q8. How can I pay fees for membership and training?
Payments can be made via wire transfer or cash deposit directly into the respective GAJSMA bank account. Membership is renewable annually.

Q9. Can GAJSMA Logo be used in syllabus books?
Yes, but only by GAJSMA members and solely for GAJSMA-organized activities, including syllabus books.
